Without our community and loyal customers, it wouldn’t be possible. Every coffee you’ve bought, and every cup you’ve enjoyed across our partner venues and coffee bars helps us have a profoundly life-changing and long-term impact on the coffee-growing communities.
Since we established the C2C Fund in 2015, a fixed amount of every coffee sale has gone into the Fund, investing at the source – communities and environments where coffee is grown.
How do we choose where the investment goes?
Never settling for a one-size-fits-all approach, we recognise that each community is truly unique with its own set of challenges and needs. That’s why our investment always goes directly to our partner cooperatives who then have the power to decide the most effective ways of utilising the funds.
We build direct relationships with the coffee cooperatives and their communities, we listen hard, understand their challenges, and agree on long-term solutions based on equity and trust. To keep us focused and ensure we help deliver deep impact, we work with grassroots projects centered around one or more of the 3 pillars of Education, Equity and Environment.
EQUITY: Giving farmers greater control over their conditions and resources.
EDUCATION: Empowering marginalised groups and improving their access to opportunities.
ENVIRONMENT: Minimising environmental harm to the natural habitat and coffee ecosystem.
Rebuild Women’s Hope: Building Hope on Idjwi Island
Our most recent project has been in partnership with the Rebuild Women’s Hope Coffee Cooperative in the DRC (Democratic Republic of Congo). In 2020, we helped build the first-ever maternity clinic called Matumaini Hospital (translated to The Hospital of Hope in English) on the island of Idjwi. Most recently, we released our Life-Saving Coffee collection, with 100% of profits going towards the construction of an operating theatre and intensive care unit for the hospital. You bought it in your hundreds, and we raised the funds needed for the extension, with construction being completed at the end of September, 2026.
Because of this investment, communities will be able to access emergency treatment, surgery, intensive care, maternity services and specialist support for women and children, as well as preventative healthcare for the whole community.

SolCafe: Contributing to school projects in Honduras
Back in 2023, Mozzo travelled to Honduras to meet SolCafe, a collective of small coffee producers in the western part of the country to witness the real-life impact of the C2C Fund investment. Through our partnership, we contributed to a crucial school infrastructure project in the coffee-producing regions of San Juan and Intibuca.
With your support, C2C Fund was able to help facilitate the following:
- Construction of three extra classrooms and redevelopment of student toilets for Escuela Brisas De Erayocla, a school for 67 students, aged 5-13.
- Expand the educational opportunities for children in the community, so that more children can attend the Escuela Brisas De Erayocla.
- Lay a new patio for children to play on and ceramic the canteen facilities at Escuela Brisas De La Virgen, a school for 62 students.
- Replace the 22-year-old leaking roof for Escuela Nuevo Desperation, a school for 38 students, aged 6-13.
- Build 3 metal gates for children’s safety at Julian Sanchez Dominguez, a school for 69 students between 4-13.

Muungano Cooperative: Investing in Sustainable Coffee Production
Our team first met a small start-up cooperative Muungano, meaning ‘togetherness’ in Swahili, during a trip to the DRC in 2014. Despite having very limited resources, the farmers were producing exceptional speciality-grade Arabica coffee which we purchased directly to include in our core blends.
Since 2015, the C2C Fund has helped Muungano coffee cooperative:
- Build an office & cupping lab and supply equipment.
- Construct 50 new drying tables.
- Rehabilitate the Nyabirehe & Buchiro washing stations post flood.
- Support salaries of 6 Field Officers training farmers on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).
- Establish internet connection via satellite for the office.
- Construct a 4th washing station at Nyangoma including 15 new drying tables, 2 hand pulpers and building materials for fermentation tanks.
The Fund also supported the salary of Head Agronomist, Julie Nirere, during 2020, which allowed her to stay with the coffee cooperative and continue her work helping farmers improve their coffee production and build a more sustainable future for coffee farming.

The C2C Fund™ has supported a range of community-led projects in some of the most impoverished coffee-growing regions, from improving coffee farming to investing in healthcare, education and essential infrastructure. Each project has been guided by the needs of the communities we work with, with a focus on creating realistic, practical and long-term impact that continues long after our initial investment.
