Kinini, Rwanda single origin

Kinini meaning ‘this big thing right here’ is based in Rwanda’s Rulindo district, partnering with 600 smallholder farmers across 252 hectares in the Rusiga and Mbogo regions and producing internationally recognised speciality coffees. Founded in 2012 by Jacqueline and Malcolm, the cooperative was created to provide sustainable income for the coffee-growing communities while supporting their charity A New Beginning.

With women making up 85% of its members, Kinini Washing Station is dedicated to empowering vulnerable women, and creating safer, brighter futures for their children and orphans. Through its partnership with A New Beginning, 10% of coffee revenue is directly reinvested in the local community and has funded local infrastructure like roads, schools and coffee cherry collection points. Its community initiatives also include a school providing education for over 300 local children aged 4-11 alongside access to maternity and general healthcare.
