Homemade Chai Syrup

Want to make a batch of chai syrup to enjoy more than once or to share with friends over coffee? Take a look at our expert tips—here’s how we do it:

Chai Syrup Ingredients:

  • 1.25g cloves
  • 5g cardamom
  • 6.25g cinnamon
  • 1.25g ginger
  • 250g sugar
  • 250g water

Method:

  1. Weigh the sugar and water, and add them to a pot to create the syrup.
  2. Simmer over medium-low heat until all the sugar dissolves.
  3. While the syrup is heating, weigh all the dry spices and grind them using a spice mill or a mortar and pestle.
  4. Weigh the ginger and chop it into small pieces.
  5. Add the ground spices and chopped ginger to the syrup.
  6. Let the mixture infuse for about 5 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and allow it to cool.
  8. Strain the syrup to remove any large pieces of spice.
  9. Add to your favorite cup and enjoy!
